What Is Spool DAO(SPOOL)?
Spool DAO is composable middleware that interfaces between Capital Aggregators, Yield Optimizers, and Yield Generators to algorithmically maximize yield and minimize risk. Spool users can mitigate risk and maximize returns without the need for a technical knowledge of risk modelling and DeFi. Spool connects Capital Aggregators, Risk Model Providers, Yield Generators, and End Users to most efficiently deploy capital.

Key Features
Fully Composable DeFi:
Spool is an open-ended DeFi toolbox. Create Custom Strategies based on a range of editable inputs. These inputs include an array of Yield Generators, Risk Models, and a Risk Tolerance.
Completely Automated:
Spool DAO automatically compounds yield and adjusts capital allocation to maximize capital efficiency within the constraints of the parameters and Risk Tolerance set by each individual Spool.
Permissionless & Non-Custodial:
100% Smart Contract-based. Funds will never enter centralized custody.
Programmable Risk:
Select from established Risk Models or create your own and present it to the DAO. If approved, your Risk Model can be used by Spool Creators.
Earn Fees as a SPOOL Holder:
Spool DAO Coin stakers partake in governance and accrue 100% of protocol-generated revenue. 80% of revenue is paid out to stakers directly, the remaining 20% goes to the DAO controlled treasury.
Earn Fees as a Spool Creator:
Spool Creators can set a performance fee (capped at 20% of yield) for themselves on the protocol level, which allows them to earn fees from users joining their strategy in a transparent way.
White-label solution:
End Users can enter and exit Spools through a single point of access either via the Spool App, directly through the smart contract, or via third-party interfaces using the Spool SDK.
Supported Chains
Spool DAO is an EVM based protocol and will support all EVM native blockchains in the future. At launch however, Spool exclusively supports Ethereum. The reason for starting with Ethereum is simple. Ethereum is the most battle-tested smart contract platform up to date. The existing protocols on Ethereum have significant TVL, which makes it the ideal foundation to start on.
Token Utility
Fees/Revenue
SPOOL Tokens entitle stakers to 100% of protocol revenue as voted by the DAO. Currently, revenue is split into direct payouts in the form of SPOOL/DAI liquidity (80%) and deposits into the DAO Treasury (20%). Therefore, the foremost Token utility is protocol revenue capture.
Incentives
The Spool DAO can incentivize participants (including itself) via the treasury and fees.
Risk Model Proposal
Risk Model Providers can stake SPOOL and propose their Risk Model to the DAO. The stake ensures that Risk Models are only proposed by actors who intend to participate in the Protocol in good faith.
Strategy Proposal
SPOOL Holders can propose new Strategies for utilization within the Spool Ecosystem after after their submitted proposal has been passed successfully.
Governance via Spool Improvement Proposals (SIPs)
SPOOL Holders can create and vote on their own SIPs that will determine future protocol changes and upgrades. Due to the majority of SPOOL being distributed to protocol users (see Release Schedule), the community will eventually assume governance and direct the future of the project.
