About Across Airdrop
Across Airdrop is a novel bridging method that combines an optimistic oracle, bonded relayers and single-sided liquidity pools to provide decentralized instant transactions from rollup chains to Ethereum mainnet.
As already guessed in retroactive airdrop overview, Across is airdropping a total of 125,000,000 ACX to early users and community members. Users who’ve bridged assets by July 18th, 2022, active bridge users identified by the Bridge Traveler program who have not used Across prior to September 1, 2022, active Discord members who have meaningfully contributed to Across by September 1st, 2022 and users who provided liquidity by October 10th, 2022 are eligible to claim the airdrop.

The Bridge Ethereum Deserves
Across is a cross-chain bridge for L2s and rollups secured by UMA’s optimistic oracle.
Safe
The optimistic design means that no matter how many people are participating in the bridge, it only takes one single honest actor to dispute a false claim.
Growing
There are many ways to become a part of this mission, earn ACX rewards, and help guide the direction of the Across DAO. The place to start is in the community.
Capital Efficient
Higher capital efficiency means lower costs and fewer funds at risk. Across was built with the thesis that capital efficiency is the single most important measure of a cross-chain bridge.
Fast
Across is able to offer extremely fast bridging. Today, that means bridging under 2 minutes on average. In the future, next-block bridging will be possible.
Bridging
In this section, we walk you through how to perform a bridge transaction through the Across app.
Step 1: Enter bridge details
For this step, you will choose the source chain, the asset and amount, and the destination chain.
Here is what each dropdown means on the Across Bridge page:
- 1.From: source chain
- 2.Asset: asset you want to transfer
- 3.Size: quantity of the asset you want to transfer
- 4.To: destination chain
Providing Liquidity
In this section, we describe how you can begin providing liquidity to Across. This is an important component of the Across ecosystem as this passive capital is used to quickly reimburse the active capital provided by the relayers.
When an individual provides liquidity to a pool, the individual receives an LP token which represents their individual share of the pool. This share becomes more valuable over time as it accrues fees generated from transfers.
Referral Rewards
The Across Referral Program rewards those who spread the word about Across Protocol with their custom referral link. When a user bridges using someone else’s (or their own) Across referral link, the referrer and referee earn ACX rewards. Referrers have the opportunity to level up their tiers; the more people they refer and volume they accumulate, the higher the tier and greater the rewards.
Fees
There are two types of fees associated with using Across:
- 1.Destination gas fees
- 2.Bridge fees
Destination gas fees
In order for Across to deliver the tokens to the user on the destination chain, a transaction needs to be submitted on behalf of the user on the destination chain.
The destination gas fee encompasses the gas costs associated with this transaction.
Bridge fees
Bridge fees are themselves broken into two components:
- 1.LP fee: Fee paid to liquidity providers for providing passive liquidity that is utilized by the system to refund relayers
- 2.Relayer fee: Fee paid to incentivize relayers to relay your bridge transaction quickly
Token
The ACX token governs the decisions that affect the function of Across Protocol as well as the decisions that manage the DAO’s treasury. It is an ERC-20 token.
A token allows for decentralized ownership and control of the protocol. The ACX token will control Across Protocol, putting governance decisions in the token holders’ hands.
Governance was “turned on” at token launch. The lifecycle of a proposal includes ideation, discussion, proposal, feedback, voting and execution. We use Forum and Snapshot as our governance platforms.
Soon we’ll introduce an optimistic governance tool built in collaboration with UMA and Snapshot.
In addition to governance, ACX also incentivizes liquidity providers and those participating in the Across Referral Link program.
